University fellowships (contrats doctoraux)
 Doctoral School Competition for fellowships
1. Applicants should pre-register online (in French) by clicking here before June 8, 2012 and should provide a written agreement for supervision from a PhD advisor (this can be in French or English).
In the case of foreign students (all countries are eligible) with no French Master degree, an exemption request has to be submitted to the "Ecole Doctorale" before May 14, 2012.
Final marks of the Master’s degree should be transmitted to the Doctoral School by June 23, 2012.
2. A total of 60 students will be selected by the Scientific Council of the Doctoral School for an oral presentation. Selection takes into account marks obtained during the two years of Master and the global CV.
3. Competition : July 09-10-11, 2012
- Oral presentation: 15 minutes - Questions: 15 minutes
The Oral presentation should describe the scientific prospects of the Master’s work experience and more particularly the following points:
- Position of the subject of the work experience within the laboratory’s objectives / short overview of the results.
- Critical analysis of the methodological tools / approaches
- Scientific and methodological prospects
- Position of the PhD in the professional project of the candidate
The Questions (15 minutes) will essentially be of a scientific nature and their aim is to test the applicant's capacity to defend a project.
Final jury.
- Mathematical classification
- Attribution of the grants to the first X candidates.
4. Awarded students have to prepare their PhD on a topic highlighted in italics on the posted list (PhD topics) on the Doctoral School’s website.
